Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve function. This is done by inserting sterilized, stainless-steel needles into specific points located near or on the surface of the skin which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to treat a wide variety of illnesses.

History of acupuncture: The ancient Chinese found energy channels that they call meridians that run throughout the body.  They found that there were 360  points on the body throughout these meridians.  By targeting certain points, Qi (energy) is altered.  By altering the flow of Qi helps to treat different conditions.

Medically, the needles that are inserted in the skin help to stimulate blood flow.  Blood has healing elements that help to break up scar tissue and decrease inflammation.  This intern helps to decreases pain and symptoms.

Acupuncture can help musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, headaches, muscle aches and spasms, pain management, sprains and strains and a variety of other conditions.
